RESULTS OF THE PRE-EXAM RETAKE ARE AVAILABLE BELOW.

ATTENTION: THE PRE-EXAM RETAKE WILL TAKE PLACE ON 27/2/2012 AT 9.45AM IN ROOM 104. THE RETAKE WILL COVER THE ENTIRE MATERIAL DEALT WITH IN CLASS DURING THE SEMESTER AND WILL TAKE THE SAME FORM AS THE JANUARY PRE-EXAM. THIS IS THE ONLY POSSIBILITY TO RETAKE THE PRE-EXAM, THERE WILL BE NO INDIVIDUAL ARRANGEMENTS.

Requirements for passing the course

  • pre-exam (kolokwium)
The pre-exam will take place towards the end of the semester and must be passed with a positive result. The pre-exam consists of 3 complex problems and 10 multiple-choice questions. In total you can receive a maximum of 70 points. There will be no possibility to retake the pre-exam before the January exam. You may retake the pre-exam (once) before the retake exam.
  • class participation and short tests
For each problem solved individually at the board, if you volunteer to do so (and the instructor agrees), you can receive 0-3 points depending on the correctness of your solution. If asked to solve a problem at the board by the instructor, you do not receive any points. If in the latter case you are not prepared to demonstrate any solution, 1 point will be substracted from your class participation score (it is possible to end up with negative points!).
Short 5-10 minute tests will be organized 5 times during the semester without prior announcement. Each test can give you 0-3 points (depending on the correctness of your answer).
In total you can receive a maximum of 30 points for class participation and short tests during the semester.
  • final grade
In total you can receive a maximum of 100 points in this course (70 for the pre-exam + 30 for class participation). The grades will be given according to the following scale:
86-100 points: 5
76-85 points: 4+
66-75 points: 4
56-65 points: 3+
51-55 points: 3

Your grade from discussions class counts for 40% of your final Microeconomics grade. The remaining 60% is determined on the basis of your final exam results. You are required to pass this course with a positive grade in order to be admitted to the final exam.
